Enduring Transience: Recent Work by Paducah School Of Art Instructors

Alison Hahn and John Hasegawa

Exhibit runs November 14 – December 19, 2009

Enduring Transience, a two person exhibition, features digital photographs by Alison Hahn and ceramic vessels by John Hasegawa.  Hahn’s photographs in her Vanitas series are intended to evoke similar emotions of drama, mystery, and awe found in Dutch "Vanitas" still life paintings. The slashes and marks that Hasegawa makes across the surfaces of his pots capture the energetic motion of transformation from a ball of clay to a finished vessel. Hahn and Hasegawa are instructors at the Paducah School of Art.
